Mary Ellen Suey’s life was full of happy memories, but she had always known she was adopted. Her adoptive parents told her the unusual story and unique circumstances surrounding the first few months of her life.
On September 22, 1955, Mary Ellen was found abandoned in the woods of Richmond, Indiana. A local teenager had been out hunting with his grandfather that day when he heard an unusual noise.
Drawn to the strange noise, the boy, 14-year-old Dave Hickman, decided to investigate. He described it to CBS as “a soft, cooing sound.”
