The Truth About Christopher Columbus Upturns All That We Believed About The Discovery Of America

Christopher Columbus, it’s widely believed, was the first European to land on American soil. However, as accepted as this may be, is it actually true? Was it really this Italian explorer who first sailed across the Atlantic from the Old World to “discover” the New World in 1492? It turns out there’s an alternative version of the events that surrounded the discovery of the Americas. And it’s one well worth exploring.

One thing we do know for sure is that Columbus wasn’t even looking for America at the time. Rather, he was searching for a westward passage from Europe to the Far East. This project was sponsored by Spanish royalty, anxious to find an oceanic trade route to the riches of the Orient.
