So how did a once-shining star wind up wandering barefoot in a parking lot, looking a shell of his former self? And whose responsibility is it to help him?
The year 2004 was a good one for Delonte West. As a star player at Saint Joseph’s University, he was spotted by the Boston Celtics and would remain with the team until 2007.
West went on to play for Seattle, Cleveland and Minnesota before returning to Boston in 2010. He would see out his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks, and this was followed by stints with the Texas legends and a year in China.
